GRASSROOTS SPONSORSHIP - Fuji Xerox Link Lucas Neill Deal to Grassroots Support - Sport & Sponsorship News

13 Mar 2007

The Manly United Football Club (MUFC) is continuing to benefit from the rise and rise of former player Lucas Neill, now a key member of the Socceroos, with Fuji Xerox Printers Australia finalising a renewed naming rights deal with the club to accompany its new sponsorship of Neill himself. Under the agreement, Neill, will become an ambassador for the Fuji Xerox Printers brand, with the company using Neill as the face of its marketing and promotional campaigns for 2007, while the MUFC renewal will see the company continue its support of grassroots sport and the local Manly community.

Paul Harman, spokesperson for the company, explained that Fuji Xerox Printers Australia is based on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, where Neill started his football career with MUFC, adding that the importance of being involved at the grassroots level with the local community is just as high for Neill as it is for them, as evidenced by the Lucas Neill Scholarship program. The scholarship is designed to raise the profile of the MUFC within the international football community and support the careers of local stars, and is awarded to one MUFC under 16 player annually.
