Opportunity knocks for Telstra support
Australian athletics clubs and centres are reminded that this year’s Telstra Assistance Fund closes on August 1.
Telstra’s principal sponsorship of Athletics Australia and the Telstra Assistance Fund initiative is designed to supply athletics clubs and centres in Australia with essential equipment including items such as timing equipment, water bottles, quick shades, starting blocks and throw kits.
Commonwealth Games gold medallist Scott Martin supported the launch of the fund in June.
“This is a great initiative from Telstra offering invaluable support for athletic clubs across the country,” he said. “You’d be mad not to apply.”
Since the introduction of athletics to the Telstra Assistance Fund program, over 100 athletics clubs from Goulburn in New South Wales to Ingham in Queensland have shared around half a million dollars worth of vital athletics equipment from Telstra.
The initiative is in its fifth year and has delivered over $3.5 million worth of much needed equipment to more than 2000 clubs under Telstra’s sponsorship portfolio.
Support your local athletics club by applying for funding today.
