More than 400 experts in sports medicine, sports science, sports injury prevention and physical activity promotion from around the world will attend the Asics Conference of Science and Medicine in Sport (ACSMS), hosted by Sports Medicine Australia, at Hamilton Island from October 16-18.
The Conference will feature international and Australian speakers and sessions focusing on topics such as: the links between changes in lifestyle and rises in obesity (and what to do about it); preventing injury in all levels of sport; how to get the best out of elite athletes in individual and team settings; new approaches to preventing doping and how to keep an ageing population active. Specific sessions will focus on exercise physiology, nutrition and physiology, paediatric exercise science, neuromechanics, recovery, sports psychology, physical activity, environments, ageing and arthritis, diabetes, sports injury and clinical issues. More than 200 research papers will be presented.
